Bio
A native of Haiti, from an early age he began playing the piano having as professor an American woman whose name was Judith. He pursued his studies in piano lessons in Montreal, in a few private music conservatories. Seeing that musical instruments were being computerized, he soon acquired a diploma in computer programming at CEGEP Maisonneuve.

In his family, everyone played an instrument or sang. After touring Canada with his brothers Arly & Renald with their own group Les Freres Jean-René, the brothers Jean-René had a brief tour with Missile 727.

JoJo composed his own songs and he sang a lot of them. His songs have a Caribbean flavour, Latin American and some American soft rock. The lyrics of his songs are in French, Creole and English. When it comes to music, he often works with his brothers Arly & Renald, guitarist and bassist.

JoJo is actually a nickname for Joseph Jean-René, it is used as artist name because the reality is the world and its friends and its environment know him by this name. One of the questions people often ask, “Why the suffix "COMPAS" after the name JOJO "?

In reality the suffixation "COMPAS" on behalf of "JOJO" is to indicate the Caribbean and Latin flavour which is composed his music. It's the flavour of Haitian, Martinicans, Guadeloupans and many other French Islands and Latin America.

Jojo is very open and very emotional in his songs which speak of love, life and the habits and culture of a people.

I leave you with these spicy notes and sometimes sweetened music and asking you all to give him your support for the success of Caribbean music.
